Legend has it that it was used for therapeutic by a neighborhood witch, but it surely was blown up and the remnants are in a pile within the woods. There are a lot of cup and ring markings on the stones up there. It feels historic and earthed.
There’s an important sense of peace and it is fairly exceptional that the woods are surrounded by fields and countryside whereas solely being a few miles from a significant airport, motorways and fewer than eight miles from Edinburgh metropolis centre.
What’s your favorite reminiscence?
The solar streaming by way of the bushes and a hawk swooping near my head because it tried to catch a hare that ran throughout my path. The hare acquired away. The hawk was majestic.
I wrote the primary track on my new album within the woods that day. It took quarter-hour. That by no means occurs to me. I prefer to suppose I caught it there.
