Durham MPs have referred to as £125,000 which the borough will obtain after ending as runner-up to Bradford for Metropolis of Tradition 2025 to go in direction of the revival of the Durham Gentle Infantry (DLI) Museum.

At a Durham County Council assembly, members of the Conservative-Liberal Democrat-Impartial joint administration rejected the opposition’s proposal as “ridiculous” and “time losing”, saying it was not their cash to spend.

Labour’s Councillor Alison Batey put ahead the movement to distribute the £125,000 award, plus £15,000 from council reserves, to 14 space motion partnerships (AAPs) amid the price of dwelling disaster affecting individuals’s budgets.
