Spanish Phrase of the day: Cueva
A couple of weekends in the past, I had the pleasure of happening a very cool journey. Me and some pals took a loooong bus to Tornquist, a small city within the province of Buenos Aires.
Tornquist is thought for one of many oldest mountain ranges in Argentina, some consider it to be older than the Andes mountains. Though they’re much smaller than the Andes, there are nonetheless some cool adventures available. There are hikes round Cierra la Ventana, with some fairly cool hostels to remain in. All the hikes function wonderful views of the panorama (and possibly some wild horses), however one particularly was tremendous thrilling. La garganta olvidado (the forgotten throat) leads you up a ridge and to a hidden waterfall. It’s completely attractive.
A couple of miles away is Tres Picos, a mountain with, you’ll have guessed it, three peaks. Whereas solely 4,000 miles excessive, it’s a troublesome one, with some steep ridges and many rocks to scale. However the view is value all the effort. And, who is aware of, perhaps you’ll see some guanacos!
Lastly, throughout from Tres Picos is la Cueva de los Guanacos. It is a small cave that individuals spend the night time in, and sure, it does have bats and rats galore. Nevertheless, it has an excellent view of a valley and Tres Picos, in addition to a stream on the backside of the mountain. Plus, there’s little or no gentle air pollution, so the celebs are magnificent.
It was such a enjoyable journey in contrast to something I’ve ever accomplished earlier than. Plus, it was type of good to get off the grid. When you don’t hear from me after a number of days, perhaps I’m again within the mountains.
