It has been 40 years since Canada’s Constitution of Rights and Freedoms was enshrined within the Structure.
The Queen and former prime minister Pierre Trudeau signed the proclamation on April 17, 1982.
However Indigenous individuals and racialized communities got little consideration again then and years later, some individuals say the Constitution nonetheless falls quick. Eric Sorensen studies.
