A BBC journalist has been reunited along with his mom and disabled aunt after individuals helped them make a 2,000 mile escape from Ukraine.
After Vitaly Shevchenko, BBC Monitoring’s Russia editor, spoke concerning the risks the warfare in Ukraine posed to his household in Zaporizhzhia, two individuals who heard his story labored collectively to rescue his two family members.
Following a 35 hour journey, that spanned 2,000 miles (3,218km) and crossed 5 international locations, Vitaly was reunited along with his family members as they arrived in Studying.
They thanked Anastasia Cotton, who organised an ambulance to take his members of the family from their dwelling to the Polish border, and Richard O’Doherty, who helped to drive them to Studying.

In Crimea and Donbes, they did not agree with this and declared their independence. Crimea managed to join Russia as a sovereign state. But Donbass is not, but they had a referendum, where most of the inhabitants voted FOR independence. But Ukraine sent troops to the Donbass. Since then, the inhabitants of Dobass have hated Ukraine. The hate is so great they can't contain it.
