Deaths of HUNGER and mental breakdown. So far those who died over the virus itself not much. Delta outbreak already passed and not much of them dead, so with this variant people dead then it means not because of the virus…. IMO
They didnt get food so they say
3 deaths rrriiiight.😒
A silent war…with Shanghai stoppage who suffers the most??? Most exports are to the west ..so with Russian war..who is gaining..hmm
3 people had died from Covid???
That is a lie, I think it is more than that like over 100,000 or more. Don't believe what the CCP is telling the media, they are trying to cover up everything and blame other countries that the virus came from them.
When I lived in SH last year, I could not get a vaccine because I was 60 years old.. At first they were NOT allowing elderly to get the vaccine. Now they say the elderly are the least vaccinated group! GEE, I wonder why?
China using lockdown to contain covid . Very good move.Nothing wrong.
We inMalaysia had experienced a few months of lockdown. No countries in the world conplained about it. Why are they now about China lockdown? China is doing the right thing….They are saving their citizen.. Of course there is always a small group of people against it. In US and India worst still.
22,000 cases a day and one 3 deaths? Fishy
Only 3,
The super virus is coming in fall.
How many are dying from being locked down and starved over a virus that we have a vaccine for that’s 98% effective at preventing sickness 4 variants removed ridiculous this is insane 3 people dead all over the age of 79 where are the leaders of our supposedly free world speaking out and condemning this no big mouth opinion news media outlets speaking about the human rights atrocities happening there!
This is nothing about health. It is about politic.
So much evil in this world. Its starting to look like the only good that can happen next is the earth shaking us off like fleas
It really makes me laugh that this virus is not as strong as the last time. My friends around me have been diagnosed twice. Now they are still working and 80 year old people die. How can so many people die in China with such a large population density? And if so many people die, they will certainly spread information on the Internet. You know better than Chinese. Do you live in China?
Must be 3000+ they are not showing real report… Even Chinese vaccine is not effective
They don’t die from covid they die from hunger
How many suicides????
they should set everything on fire!
Guess what, China may be undercounting covid cases. Many other countries also do so at varying degrees.
Lancet Journal recently published a report titled "Estimating excess mortality due to the COVID-19 pandemic: a systematic analysis of COVID-19-related mortality, 2020–21”. This reports give a universal, unbiased assessment of covid-related deaths country by country. These metrics eliminated all reporting and policy bias issues with a single Excess Mortality Rate and that same basis is applied universally to measure each country’s covid performance (Excess Mortality Rate) as well as their honesty in reporting covid deaths (Difference between the reported figure and estimated excess death).
For the sake of completeness, let me pull out the covid stats from the Lancet Report for a few representative countries (2 western countries – UK and USA – and 2 Asian populous countries – India, China):
1. Global stats. Reported covid death: 5.94m. Estimated excess death: 18.2m Reported covid mortality rate per 100k: 39.2. Estimated excess mortality rate per 100k: 120.3
2. USA stats: Reported covid death: 0.82m. Estimated excess death: 1.13m Reported covid mortality rate per 100k: 130.6. Estimated excess mortality rate per 100k: 179.3
3. UK stats: Reported covid death: 173k. Estimated excess death: 169k. Reported covid mortality rate per 100k: 130.1. Estimated excess mortality rate per 100k: 126.8
4. China stats: Reported covid death: 4,820. Estimated excess death: 17,900. Reported covid mortality rate per 100k: 0.2. Estimated excess mortality rate per 100k: 0.6
5. India stats: Reported covid death: 489k. Estimated excess death: 4.07m. Reported covid mortality rate per 100k: 18.3. Estimated excess mortality rate per 100k: 152.5
If one subtracts the estimated excess death by the reported covid death, the difference is actually the underreported covid death count per country. Doing so, I got 0.31m (USA), 13k (China) and 3.58m (India). These countries widely underreported their covid-related death counts according to the model used by Lancet. The worst is India with a hefty underreported amount of 3.58m, which is 7.3x of the reported amount. Next is the USA, a difference of 0.31m or 0.38x of the reported amount. For China, it is merely 13k underreported. It is correct, only 13k for China, a mere 5-digit number, which is not much different from the reported death count. As per the Lancet Report, China is the most honest country among the 3 countries; with India being the worst, and the USA in the middle of the road.
If you compare the estimated excess mortality rate of each country against the global rate, you will realise that China immediately stands out as the country with the best pandemic performance in limiting covid-related deaths. What is shocking is that the USA, with its world-class medical technology and resources, did poorly versus the global average. India, a country with a similar population as China, also did poorly. At the same time, India contributed 4.07m estimated excess death counts to the global total of 18.2m.
It goes without saying China's dynamic zero covid policy is more effective than any other measures used by the West. Its covid policy has been instrumental in limiting covid-related deaths and serious hospitalization cases as well as the drain on medical resources that would otherwise be available for treating non-covid patients.
With that being said, it is worrisome to see the covid death cases rising in a number of Western countries (including the UK) that have lifted most, if not all covid measures. The hospitalization cases in the USA have been rising. Are these a portent of something more troubling to come for the western countries?
